Emilie K. Adin, RPP, MCIP, LEED AP, MLAI, is the President of the Planning Institute of British Columbia and an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s of Urban Design program at the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Emilie was a founding member of the BC Energy Step Code Council, and her professional planning work has been recognized by the Union of BC Municipalities, the Community Energy Association, the Planning Institute of British Columbia, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and many others. Emilie was recently recognized by Business in Vancouver (BIV) Magazine as one of six leaders in British Columbia in the category of Urban Planning and Design, in BIV’s third edition of the 500 Most Influential Leaders in BC (The BIV500 List).
Marina Avilés Olmos, Architect, lighting designer and sustainable consultant, with over 15 years of professional experience in Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland as project manager and in the technical development of building projects in worldwide renowned offices. She masters 3 languages (Spanish, English and German). Also career civil servant for education in Spain, she has been a host lecturer at the university and she has led her own projects for education on sustainability in the build environment with local communities and she is an expert in circular economy applied to the built environment.
