On February 6 the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) hosted the LAI Atlanta Chapter Winter Meeting at their downtown offices. With near room capacity attendance, the meeting was a fantastic kick-off of 2018 activities.

LAI Atlanta Chapter President Jim Viviano welcomed fellow members and guests to the meeting. In his talking points Jim gave an update from the recent Board meeting: the 2018 chapter theme is Affordable Housing, a potential Flint River Headwaters Reclamation chapter project is under development, discussions are underway with the Urban Land Institute to partner on an Affordable Housing event in the fall, and Board member Holly Elmore will represent the chapter at the Spring 2018 Land Economics Weekend in Baltimore.

Following Jim, Past President Russ Posey inducted Douglas Crawford and Doug Stone into LAI. Welcome, Douglas & Doug!!

ARC Executive Director & LAI Member Doug Hooker gave an empowering presentation including an ARC overview along with details on current and future initiatives. LAI Atlanta Chapter Secretary Leslie Wade provided an excellent synopsis of Doug’s presentation and Doug’s PPT presentation is available for download: Hooker_Addresses_LAI_Atlanta_WinterMeeting and

After an excellent Q&A session with Doug, the meeting adjourned with an announcement of the May 1 Chapter Meeting hosted by Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.

Meeting photos are included in the LAI FB album under the Winter 2018 Meeting section.
