It is official: Leslie Wade is a member of the LAI Atlanta Chapter!!!

The Atlanta Chapter is fortunate Leslie chose to call Atlanta her new home in 2016.  As a veteran LAI member, Leslie brings her San Diego Chapter Board experience and overall industry expertise to the Atlanta Chapter’s asset base. Immediately upon joining the Atlanta Chapter, Leslie agreed to co-chair the Membership Committee with Chapter Past President Joan Herron.

Establishing member nomination policies and procedures was a top priority. The New Member Policy & Procedures website page along with the supporting Nomination Form marked the Leslie | Joan team’s first completed task, literally within days of Leslie officially joining the chapter!

With the chapter in reinvigoration mode, the timing is perfect for Leslie to contribute her enthusiasm and non-profit experience to the Atlanta Chapter leadership.

In Leslie’s own words:

“I’m excited to be part of the Atlanta chapter. Lambda Alpha provides an important forum for substantive discussions about the policies and innovations that shape our built environment. The best people with the best ideas gather here.”

Below is Leslie’s LAI profile:

Leslie Wade is an accomplished senior communications strategist with experience in strategic communications and public engagement related to transportation, real estate development, and land planning. She presently serves as Communications Director for HNTB in Atlanta, where she leads communications efforts for Georgia DOT’s $11B Major Mobility Investment Program.

Prior to joining HNTB, Leslie served as a senior communications manager at WSP (formerly Parsons Brinkerhoff), where she developed and managed communications strategies for highway, toll facility, and high-speed passenger rail projects in Dallas and other cities in the Central U.S.

Her public sector resume includes serving as a senior communications manager for the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), a major Metropolitan Planning Organization. There, she managed communications for more than 30 projects, valued in excess of $8 billion, in design, environmental review and construction phases. The projects included highway, rail, light rail, Bus Rapid Transit, TDM, and active transportation planning.

As principal of her own firm for 20 years, Leslie facilitated project entitlements for urban and rural developments from high-rise towers to waterfront master plans. She is a former lobbyist and served as public relations consultant to three chapters of the American Institute of Architects in Southern California.

Leslie, welcome to the LAI Atlanta Chapter! The Board is most grateful you chose to join the Chapter and is excited to work with you on reinvigorating the chapter membership.
